Igiriukwu Women Football Team Visits Hon. Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Presents Championship Trophy.

The Igiriukwu Women Football Team of Owaza on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ukwa West/East Federal Constituency, where they presented him with the championship trophy they won after defeating Umuegwuisi Women of Etitioha on August 16, 2026.

The visit doubled as a celebration of the team’s victory and an occasion to appreciate Hon. Nwogu for his continued support for women, youth, and grassroots sports development in the constituency.

The team was led by their captain, Mrs. Prevailer Solomon, and their coach, Snr. AP Lucky Nwagwu. Also in attendance were Mrs. Rejoice Lazarus and Mrs. Precious Chinwendu.

Speaking during the visit, the team commended Hon. Nwogu’s leadership and his backing of initiatives that encourage women and young people to participate actively in sports. They pledged their loyal support, adopting him as their sole candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.

Responding, Hon. Nwogu congratulated the women on their success and urged them to remain united, support one another, and continue working together for the progress of their team and the wider community.

The highlight of the visit was a session of praise and prayers for Hon. Nwogu, with the team committing his aspirations and leadership journey into God’s hands and praying for his victory in the 2027 National Assembly election.

“The presentation of the trophy represents more than just a football victory. It shows what can be achieved through teamwork, dedication, and determination,” Hon. Nwogu said, appreciating the team’s visit and urging them to continue pursuing excellence and making their community proud.
