Nigeria’s New Ambassador to Israel Officially Begins Diplomatic Mission.
Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has officially begun her diplomatic mission after presenting her Letters of Credence to Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Tinubu and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its long-standing relationship with Israel. She pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investment, agriculture and food security, technology and innovation, defence and security, healthcare, and cultural exchanges.
President Herzog welcomed the Nigerian envoy and expressed Israel’s readiness to work closely with Nigeria to expand collaboration, particularly in innovation, technology, agriculture, and counter-terrorism. Diplomatic observers say the appointment signals a renewed effort by both countries to boost economic ties and strategic cooperation.
The presentation of the Letters of Credence formally marks the start of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s tenure as Nigeria’s representative in Israel and reinforces the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.
