INEC Declares Adeleke Winner of Osun Governorship Election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.

The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke won 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won the remaining 11 LGAs.

The Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, declared Adeleke the winner at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The victory secures another four-year term for Adeleke as governor of Osun State.
