Chief Sam Nwogu Media Team Denies Sabotage Allegations, Urges Public to Ignore ‘False Narrative’.

The media team of Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu has dismissed allegations circulating on social media claiming that the former public office holder sabotaged Asa candidates during the 2015 and 2019 House of Representatives elections, describing the claims as false, misleading, and an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Chief Sam Nwogu Media Team said the publication originated from “faceless, bitter-minded and jobless individuals” seeking cheap publicity through misinformation. The team insisted that the allegations do not reflect the true events surrounding the elections and should be disregarded by the public.

The statement categorically denied that Chief Nwogu engaged in or supported any act capable of undermining Asa candidates during the 2015 and 2019 general elections, stressing that the allegations are entirely baseless and unsupported by facts.

According to the media team, Chief Nwogu was serving as an appointee under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration during the period in question, with responsibilities limited to mobilising support for the party within his immediate political unit and ward. It explained that he neither had authority nor responsibility over other wards, polling units, or the overall electoral outcomes in the constituency.

The statement further maintained that Chief Nwogu successfully delivered both his polling unit and ward for the PDP in line with the party’s strategy and his assigned duties during the elections.

It also noted that the conduct and coordination of the elections were collective responsibilities of the party’s leadership and appointees, adding that attributing the overall election results in Asa or any other part of the constituency to Chief Nwogu was inaccurate and misleading.

Defending his record, the media team described Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu as a respected political leader known for his contributions to human capital development, youth empowerment, and community development across the Ukwa Federal Constituency. It said his public service has consistently been guided by integrity, commitment, and the pursuit of progress.

The statement called on political stakeholders and residents of Ukwa Federal Constituency to disregard what it described as a false narrative capable of creating unnecessary division and distracting from efforts aimed at promoting unity and development in the constituency.

Reaffirming Chief Nwogu’s political ideals, the media team said he remains committed to peace, equity, justice, and fair representation for both the Ndoki and Asa communities. It added that he would continue to champion inclusive development and constructive engagement as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

The statement concluded by assuring supporters that the team would remain focused on issue-based campaigns and credible leadership aimed at securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency.
