FCT Police Recover Two Assault Rifles, Ammunition in Raid on Bandits’ Hideout.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its crackdown on kidnapping and banditry after operatives raided a suspected bandits’ hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, recovering two FN FAL assault rifles, two magazines and live ammunition concealed inside the forest camp. The operation formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating within and around the FCT.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation was carried out on August 2 by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit following intelligence obtained from Musbahu Ishaq, one of four suspects earlier arrested and paraded over allegations of supplying firearms, ammunition and illicit substances to bandits. Investigators traced the syndicate’s activities to Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi states.

Police investigations further revealed that Ishaq allegedly sourced the weapons from Rabiu Hassan before supplying them to a suspected bandit kingpin, Baba Alhaji Sanusi, who is currently on the run and is believed to be hiding in a forest in Katsina State.

The Command said efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate, recover additional weapons and ensure all suspects are prosecuted. It also urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations.
