Peter Obi Urges Methodist Church to Keep Speaking Truth to Power, Praying for Nigeria.

Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has called on the Methodist Church of Nigeria to remain steadfast in speaking truth to power, defending the suffering masses and advocating for justice, good governance and a better Nigeria.

Obi made the appeal while attending the opening of the 50th/15th Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church of Nigeria in Ibadan, Oyo State, alongside Governor Seyi Makinde and Methodist faithful from across Nigeria and beyond. He thanked the church for its enduring contributions to nation-building and reflected on what he described as Nigeria’s immense potential for growth and development.

According to Obi, the Church remains one of the nation’s strongest voices of hope, conscience and moral leadership, especially during difficult times. He urged delegates to continue praying for Nigeria and asked them to seek God’s guidance for political leaders, praying that they would always put the public interest first and use public resources for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Obi also thanked the Methodist Church for inviting him to the conference and wished delegates a successful and fruitful gathering.
