Adeleke Wins 19 Osun LGAs As Accord Leads With 511,067 Votes.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won 19 of the 30 local government areas in the Osun State governorship election, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, secured victory in the remaining 11 LGAs.
The results were announced during the ongoing collation of the election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the results from the 30 LGAs, Adeleke polled a total of 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji recorded 444,815 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came a distant third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke secured notable victories in Osogbo, Ede North, Ede South, Ife East, Ife Central, Ife North, Ilesa West, Iwo, Oriade, Ifelodun, Odo-Otin, Egbedore, Ila, Ejigbo, Olorunda and other LGAs.
Oyebamiji, however, won in Ilesa East, Boripe, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakunmosa West, Irewole, Atakunmosa East, Isokan, Ola-Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.
The cumulative results announced so far give Adeleke a lead of 66,252 votes over his APC challenger.
With the collation of results from all 30 LGAs completed, attention is now focused on the final declaration by INEC.
