REJOINDER: Aguocha Show Us The Judgment Or Show Us Your Scorecard – Mandate 27 Group
Obi Aguocha’s media team has spent days copying bank names, company names and figures from a February 2020 Vanguard report, and now wants Ndi Abia to treat a newspaper headline as a court verdict. It is cheap, it is lazy, and it is exactly what a representative does when he has nothing to show for 3 years and 9 months in office.
You listed Fotoworld Industry Limited, Exact Construction Limited and Cheetah Press Limited. You listed GTBank, First Bank, Keystone, Union Bank, Standard Chartered and UBA. You listed dollars, pounds and billions of naira. You did all that work to paint a picture, but you forgot the only thing that matters in a law-abiding society.
**What has a court of competent jurisdiction said on all these things you listed?**
Not what Vanguard reported. Not what your media team assumes. What has a court of law said?
If there is a judgment finding Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji guilty of any offence connected to the accounts and figures in your post, bring it out. Publish it. Give Ndi Abia the suit number, the name of the court and the date of the judgment. Let every Abian read it for themselves. If you have such a judgment and you have been hiding it, you are the ones who have failed the public.
If there is none, and we know there is none, then you have nothing to say. Keep quiet.
Your own post confesses the truth. You wrote that nobody should be pronounced guilty before a court establishes guilt, and that the 2025 case must be determined through due process. Then you spent the rest of the post pronouncing guilt anyway. You cannot quote the law with one hand and break it with the other. Section 36(5) of the Constitution presumes every accused person innocent until proved guilty, and that protection belongs to Chinedum Orji as much as it belongs to any other Nigerian. He pleaded not guilty, he is facing due process, and that is the answer to every insinuation in your post.
An investigation is not a conviction. A report is not a judgment. A list of account numbers is not evidence of guilt. If it were, half of Nigeria would be in prison on the strength of newspaper headlines.
Now answer the question you are running from. You say Abians deserve answers before they entrust anyone with public office. Fine. We agree. So let us start with the man who is asking for a second term.
After 3 years and 9 months, what is your stewardship?
Which projects can the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South point to and call yours? Where are the solar street lights, and in which communities? Which classrooms did you rehabilitate? Which roads did you deliver? What food items did you distribute, and where is the beneficiary list? Which bills did you sponsor, and which of them changed the life of an ordinary person in this constituency? What happened to your constituency allowances? Where is the evidence? After almost four years, the only sports facility you can point to is a 5-a-side pitch, while Chinedum Orji’s seven 1,000-capacity mini stadiums stand for anyone to walk into and see.
You demand transparency from others while your own record sits behind a wall of press releases. You ask Chinedum Orji to account for deposits reported years ago, yet you cannot account for a single documented project in your own tenure. That is not accountability. That is distraction.
Ndi Abia are not asking for noise. They are asking for results. A man who has results does not need to dig through old newspapers. A man with no results needs a scandal to cover the emptiness.
So here is where we stand, and it is simple. Produce the judgment, or stay silent. Then account for 3 years and 9 months of your own stewardship.
If you cannot do either of these, the constituency will conclude for itself who has been working and who has been shouting.
