Must I Be From Ohuhu To Ask Where Is Our Rice? The EbonyiCard Is The Last Card Of Failure – By Mandate 27 Group

We have read the write-up by the boys of Hon Obi Aguocha attacking Mr Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie Ikukufied for calling out Hon Obi Aguocha daily. Their only defense now is: “An Ebonyi State man left the ruins of his own constituency… go to your own State, Ebonyi and request for projects accounts…”

When a Rep has no scorecard, he plays the Ebonyi card. Let us respond holistically.

THE CONSTITUTION DOES NOT ASK FOR STATE OF ORIGIN BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS

This is Nigeria, not Ohuhu village meeting. Section 39 of the 1999 Constitution says every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas. It did not say “every indigene.” Section 38 says every person is entitled to freedom of thought.

Mr Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie Ikukufied lives in Abia, makes a living in Abia, pays tax in Abia, he buys fuel in Nkwoegwu where trailers crash daily because road is bad. He drinks water, he breathes air. When N450m Afugiri Health Centre is in ruins, it is his health. When two trailers of rice palliative disappear, it is his stomach. He does not need to be from Umuhute or Umuagu to ask where is our rice. Hunger has no state of origin.

IKWUANO/UMUAHIA IS A FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, NOT OHUHU FAMILY MEETING

Hon Obi Aguocha is not member representing Ohuhu clan, he is member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His salary is paid from Federal account, which is funded by oil from Niger Delta, VAT from Lagos and Kano, and taxes from Ebonyi, Abia, and all Nigerians. His N40.89bn for 121 projects is Federal money, not Ohuhu money. Therefore any Nigerian living in Ikwuano/Umuahia has right to ask: where is the project?

If we follow your logic, then only Bende indigenes should thank Ben Kalu for 26 transformers. Other Nigerians living in Bende should keep quiet. Is that how democracy works? No.

“HE LEFT RUINS OF HIS OWN CONSTITUENCY” – HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR OWN RUINS?

You said he left ruins of his own constituency in Ebonyi. But this is projection. The ruin is here in Ikwuano/Umuahia. Afugiri Health Centre under N450m is ruin. Nkwoegwu road metres from your house is ruin. Ohuhu that your own Mouthpiece said has “no government project, no infrastructural development” is ruin. Before you send someone to Ebonyi, sweep your own compound.

And let us ask: Did you check Ebonyi? Ebonyi Federal Reps are distributing rice, roads, transformers. Can you say same for Ikwuano/Umuahia? If Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie comes from a place where Rep is working, is it not normal he will ask why his place of residence is not working?

NDI IGBO SI “OKUKO NYUO AHU, ALA ACHUWA YA OSO” – YOU GOT IT WRONG

You quoted Igbo proverb “Okuko nyuo ahu, ala achuwa ya oso” to suggest he is running from something fishy in Ebonyi. But the real chicken that defecated is your representation. You defecated on the trust of Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia, and now the whole land is chasing you. That is why even your own Ohuhu Mouthpiece is crying that Ohuhu is lacking behind.

The good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South did not request Ikechukwu to desist. We, the good people, request him to continue. Because he is asking the questions we all ask in our sitting rooms: Where is our rice? Where is Afugiri Health Centre? Where is your scorecard ward by ward?

“ONU NEKWUCHITARA NDI IGBO DUM” – IS INSULTING ELDERS SPEAKING FOR IGBOS?

You called him “Onu nekwuchitara Ndi Igbo dum na National Assembly.” Really? Is calling His Excellency Distinguished Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji, a 75-year-old elder and former Governor, a thief on Facebook Live speaking for Ndi Igbo? In Igbo land, we respect elders. Onye kpasuru okenye iwe, o kpasuru ala iwe. Is calling his son offspring of a thief when no court convicted them speaking for Ndi Igbo? That is not speaking for Ndi Igbo, that is dishonoring Ndi Igbo.

Ndi Igbo are known for decorum. What is honorable about shouting cyberbullying when you are the bully?

IF RESIDENCE IS NOT QUALIFICATION, WHAT IS AGBUOCHA’S QUALIFICATION IN OHUHU?

Let us use your own logic. If an Ebonyi man living in Abia cannot ask questions in Abia, then how can Hon Obi Aguocha who lived in United States for many years come to claim Ohuhu? Did you ask him to go back to America to ask for projects? No. Because residence plus voting plus paying tax plus living there qualifies you.

Mr Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie Ikukufied qualifies times three: He lives in Abia, he makes a living in Abia, and he votes in Abia. That is more than enough under Electoral Act to demand accountability. In fact, non-indigenes have won elections in Abia. So who are you to tell him to go to Ebonyi?

CONCLUSION: STOP PLAYING EBONYI CARD, SHOW US YOUR PROJECT CARD

You have run out of points. When you cannot show 5 transformers like Ben Kalu showed 26, you play Ebonyi card. When you cannot show Afugiri Health Centre, you play Ebonyi card. When you cannot account for two trailers of rice, you play Ebonyi card.

Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia will not be distracted by Ebonyi card. They will continue to ask: Give us only five transformers and we will manage. Fix Afugiri Health Centre. Bring our rice. Publish your scorecard.

Until you do that, Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie Ikukufied and all of us, whether from Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, or anywhere, who live in Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, will continue to call you out daily. Because this is democracy, not family meeting.

And come 2027, Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia will kick out incompetence and vote in capacity in the person of Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
