“No Competent Court Of Jurisdiction Has Pronounced Orji’s Family Guilty” – Prince Clinton Alozie Tells Obi Aguocha
It has become the stock-in-trade of Hon. Obi Aguocha and his media handlers to resort to blackmail, character assassination and cheap propaganda whenever they are confronted with questions about performance. Instead of accounting to the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency for almost three years of fruitless representation, they have chosen to drag the name of the Orji family into every conversation.
Let it be told in clear terms, and let those who have refused to go to school be tutored: No competent court of jurisdiction in Nigeria has ever pronounced the Orji family guilty of any crime.
Not a High Court. Not a Court of Appeal. Not the Supreme Court. None. All the noise, all the social media shouting, all the sponsored articles are mere political witch-hunt, mere beer parlour gossip elevated to Facebook news. In law, as any first-year law student knows, a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law. Trial by media, trial by Facebook, trial by the court of gossip is not trial at all. It is political joblessness.
If you have facts, go to court. If you have evidence, present it before a judge. Stop hiding behind anonymous Facebook accounts to malign a family that has served Abia State with passion and commitment. The people of Abia State are wiser than that.
And even if you want to play that game of mudslinging, let us place side by side performance and legacy. The Orji family, particularly Senator T. A. Orji and Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, have track records that speak for them across Abia State.
Senator T. A. Orji as Governor built the Abia State Secretariat, the E-Library, the High Court Complexes, the High Court Judges Quarters, the House of Assembly Complex, the International Conference Centre, the Abia State Specialist Hospital, and numerous roads in Umuahia and Aba that we still use today. Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji as Speaker empowered thousands, built homes for the poor, attracted roads, streetlights, transformers and made the Abia Legislature a pride.
These are verifiable legacies. They are on ground. You can touch them.
So we ask Hon. Obi Aguocha, on the premise that no court has pronounced the Orji family guilty, what moral right do you have to keep attacking them while you have no scorecard?
Show us your track record of three years.
Where are your projects in Ikwuano? Where are your projects in Umuahia North and Umuahia South? What bills have you sponsored that have improved the lives of our people? What federal jobs have you attracted for our jobless graduates? How many women and youths have you empowered in a way that is verifiable?
Stop diverting attention. The people of Ikwuano/Umuahia are not interested in your tales about Orji family. We are interested in your performance. We elected you to represent us, not to become a professional blackmailer of Orji family.
If you cannot show your track record, then you have no business seeking relevance on the name of a family that has more legacies than you can ever dream of.
Enough of the propaganda. Show us your scorecard.
