Eze-Elect Nwagbara Begins Remedial Work On Dilapidated Umuokpara/Umueme Road, Appeals To Abia Govt.
The Eze-elect of Ipu-West Autonomous Community in Owaza, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Chief Ndukaku Allwell Nwagbara, has commenced remedial work on the highly dilapidated Umuokpara/Umueme Road in the community.
The intervention, carried out on Saturday, August 8, 2026, was undertaken with the Eze-elect’s personal resources as part of his philanthropic efforts to ease the hardship caused by the poor condition of the road.
Speaking at the site, Chief Nwagbara expressed concern over the suffering the deplorable road has caused his people, saying the situation prompted him to personally intervene and make the road passable.
“I am concerned about the suffering this bad road has caused my people. That is why I decided to use my personal resources through my philanthropic gesture to make the road passable.”he said
The Eze-elect also called on the Abia State Government to look into the condition of the Umuokpara/Umueme Road and intervene to address the situation.
He stressed that while his personal intervention was aimed at providing immediate relief, government attention was needed to properly address the condition of the road.
The intervention was welcomed by the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) of Ipu-West Autonomous Community, Owaza, Mr. Lawrence Nworgu Anyachoke.
Anyachoke thanked Chief Nwagbara for listening to the concerns of the people and personally undertaking remedial work on the road.
“We thank our Eze-elect, Chief Ndukaku Nwagbara, for listening to the cry of his people and for carrying out the remedial work.”Anyachoke said.
The CDC Chairman also prayed that God and the land of Owaza would continue to bless, protect and keep the Eze-elect in all his endeavours.
The intervention has provided immediate relief on the road while also drawing attention to the need for the Abia State Government to look into the condition of the Umuokpara/Umueme Road and provide the necessary intervention.
