When Conscious Hatred, Ignorance & Immoral Allegation Override Common Sense – By Paul Ikechukwu Njoku

Apologies for any unintended subjudice committed by this article. My insight is unharmful but an attempt to illuminating clarity of purpose. Truth should be compelling with every fibre of our being.

As a human rights activist, I must say that freedom of expression is not freedom of defamation, stupidity and falsehood. When a conscious and unfounded allegation or ruthless defamation is made, consequential legal approach should be expectedly emplored.

Immorality is the violation of moral laws, norms and societal standards. Parents and guardians have a sole responsibility to teach their children basic morality of life. A hatred feature is an intense, deep-seated emotion of extreme dislike, hostility, or animosity toward people, ideas or things. Can a slanderous Nnachi Divine Mark Idume proof his reasons for extreme dislike, defamatory hostility and animosity against the T.A Orji family before the court?

If you tag it ignorance, then it is a deliberate ignorance. Deliberate ignorance is a cognitive – dissonance. It is an unreasonably-induced phenomenon which is called agnotology in the world of social psychology.

A person who deliberately makes false allegations in the knowledge that there is a risk beatification, is liable to be prosecuted subject to legal and evidence-based considerations.

A dangerously deliberate falsehood and fabricated lies are organised crimes against humanity and conscience. They are crimes under specific legal frameworks when committed with malicious and criminal intents to mislead the public and assassinate someone’s character.

When the United Nations through its Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), commissioned Sean McBride and his friends to work on modalities to ensure balance in news flow, the World Body did not envisage that people will take advantage of free flow of information to taunt and malign others.

The idea was for information users to be responsible and have respect for the dignity of others. With the coming of social media, users feel that they have the right to uncouthly and unjustly injure the reputation of others with impunity.

They fabricate and consume everything no matter whose ox is gored. The truth is, no matter how “free” you think the internet space is, you are responsible for what you cause over 4 billion social media users to believe.

Nnachi Divine Mark Idume, is currently languishing in Afara Correctional Centre for recklessly using his social media handle to spread the damning, damaging and impregnable falsehood that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had discovered US$5 billion, alleged pre written future election results, ₦1 trillion worth of gold necklaces, and over 200 exotic vehicles during a purported raid at the Umuahia residence of Senator T.A Orji, former Governor of Abia State.

This is part of “freedom of expression” in his warped mind. Apart from his incurable imbecility, only a dumb and brain-dead person would give his narrative the minutest thought. You wonder how a human would revel in this level of atrocious audacity and upheaval gravity.

The Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act 2025 (as Amended 2025) is the weapon fashioned against reckless social media users like Nnachi. People who have the thinking power of a rock and the brain of a sponge should consider some exigesis.

If you like, let hate beclouds your cognitive processes. If you do not use social media with common sense, you will be “Nnachied” very soon. The courts will remand you and possibly commit you to prison for courting stupidity and recklessness. There is no time for ignorant and mindlessness. Hatred will take you to prison.
