Fast forward to Tinubu’s Presidency That Started in 2023: The Pension of a Retired Teacher Cannot Buy Hypertension Drugs – By Dr. Awkadigwe Fredrick (MBBS)

Coming from a modest family, I obtained my MBBS degree in 2007. All the school fees payment I made as a medical student from year one to final year was not up to 100k.

I thereafter went back to the same UNN for the law degree. How did I pay school fees? Part from a parent who was a retired teacher and farmer and part from siblings who were civil servants.

Throughout those years, I was able to go to school without loan and without stress.

Fast forward to Tinubu’s presidency that started in 2023: the pension of a retired teacher cannot buy hypertension drugs for him much less feed him and his children. Such retiree cannot even give a kobo out for university education of his children in the medical school. Civil servants cannot feed their family after paying heavily for fuel and transport, high cost of living from heavy enforcement of tax on food and rented apartment, most of the money which goes to government. Do I need to talk about the inability of farmers to go to farm and farm? That source of school fees is gone! Fertilizer that used to be free is bought at exorbitant price for those who want to risk their lives to go to farm.

The worst part of the whole thing is that this same government that has destroyed the country and has made school fees difficult for Nigerian children has no shame in increasing these school fees. What students now pay for one session is now higher than what I paid for the whole six years I spent in the medical school.

What did they do? The Tinubu government and his brain-damaged cohorts are dancing unashamedly up and down saying that they have done great things by bringing NELFUND. And I ask: is this how shameless these rascals can be? What is NELFUND! How do you pluck out a man’s eyes, break his legs, shatter his eardrum and buy him glasses, hearing aid and clutches; and turn around to jubilate that you have done good to him? Are they reasoning through their anus! Do they think that everybody is as daft?

Nigerian children need none of your NELFUND if you take them back to the state you met them. Parents trained their children before you came in to destroy everything. You should be shameless rubbing it in the face of Nigerian children that you are helping them with NELFUND.

NELFUND is an event that should come with apologies and shameful secrecy. But where rascals are in power, everything goes. This cannot continue from 2027 because Nigerians are wiser.
