INEC Begins Uploading Osun Governorship Election Results to IReV Portal.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the uploading of polling-unit results from the Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

Voting took place across the state on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with INEC scheduling the official close of polls for 2:30 p.m. However, voting ended at different times in some polling units due to delays and other circumstances.

Following the completion of voting, presiding officers began sorting, counting and recording results before uploading scanned copies of the result sheets to the IReV portal.

The platform allows members of the public to electronically view polling-unit results, providing greater transparency in the electoral process and enabling voters and other stakeholders to monitor the results as they are uploaded.

Meanwhile, collation of results is ongoing at polling units and wards across Osun State’s 30 local government areas.

Although results from some polling units have already been uploaded and reported, INEC has yet to announce the overall winner of the governorship election.

The final outcome will be determined after the results have been collated and declared by the appropriate returning officer.
